Jordyn’s Sour Cream Noodle Bake
This is a great main dish to have at holiday meals, or just for dinner when you don’t want to put a lot of effort into cooking.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
- 1 large package of egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup
- 6 slices American cheese
- shredded cheddar cheese
- vegetable oil
- salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Drain the fat when done and add the tomato sauce; simmer until thick.
- In a large pot, fill halfway with water and a splash of vegetable oil and bring to a boil.
- Add egg noodles to the water, cook then drain when done; leave noodles in the pot.
- Add the sour cream and cream of mushroom soup to the drained noodles, mix until completely incorporated.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer half of meat sauce, half of noodle mixture, 3 slices of cheese, stripped, and half of shredded cheese. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients.
- Bake until cheese on top is lightly brown and bubbly.
Serve with your choice of vegetables and enjoy!
