Richard’s Gyudon (Beef Bowl)
A nice, savory, easy to make dinner. Makes 2 servings.
Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 green onions (optional)
- 3/4 lb thinly sliced beef (chuck or rib eye)
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp mirin
- 3 cups of cooked white rice
Instructions
- Peel and slice the onion into strips, cut the green onions into small slices
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium high heat
- Add the onions in to the pan (not the green onions), and cook until browned and tender
- Add the meat into the pan and cook until no longer pink
- Add mirin and soy sauce
- Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then drizzle over the beef
- Cook until egg is done, then garnish with sliced green onions
- Serve over rice
