Duojiao Fish Head (Steamed Fish Head with Chopped Peppers)

Duojiao Fish Head is a famous dish from Hunan cuisine in China. It is known for its spicy flavor, tender fish, and rich taste. This is one of my favorite traditional dishes.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Clean the fish head and cut it in half so it can lay flat on a plate.
  2. Rub the fish head with salt and cooking wine, then let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Put the fish head on a heat-safe plate.
  4. Spread the chopped peppers, garlic, and ginger on top.
  5. Steam over boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Add soy sauce and sugar after steaming.
  7. Heat the oil and carefully pour it over the fish head.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

This dish is best served with rice. The soft fish and spicy peppers go very well together.
