Sri Lankan Hoppers Recipe

The ultimate Sri Lankan food that everyone loves!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Make a dough-like paste using rice flour, yeast, and water.
  2. Cover it and let it ferment for 18-20 hours.
  3. Add sugar and coconut milk to make a somewhat thick batter.
  4. Cover again and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  5. Add salt to the batter and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  6. Heat the hopper pan on medium heat and add a little bit of coconut oil.
  7. Add a ladle full of batter to the center of the pan.
  8. Swirl the pan around to coat the inside with the batter.
  9. Cover the pan and let it cook for around 1-2 minutes.
  10. Once the hopper is properly cooked, carefully scrape it and remove it from the pan.
