Chicken Parmesan

Chicken parmesan is an italian chicken dish with a delicous, cheesy sauce. It’s easy to make and can be served with pasta for a complete italian meal.

Ingredients (4 servings)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Put chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic on a work surface.
  3. Pound chicken with smooth side of a meat mallet or rolling pin into ½-inch-thick cutlets.
  4. Sprinkle with pepper.
  5. Add eggs to a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, stir together panko and ½ cup Parmesan.
  6. Sprinkle cutlets with flour.
  7. Working with one at a time, dip cutlets into eggs to coat, then dredge in panko mixture, pressing crumbs to adhere.
  8. Transfer to a plate.
  9. Let chicken stand 15 minutes.
  10. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  11. Cook chicken, turning once halfway through, until seared and golden, about 4 minutes.
  12. Transfer chicken to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  13. Top each cutlet with ⅓ cup marinara sauce.
  14. Sprinkle with mozzarella, provolone, basil, and remaining ¼ cup Parmesan.
  15. Bake 10 to 15 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest parts registers 165°F.
