Braised Pork Belly
A classic Chinese dish with rich flavor, best served with rice.
Ingredients
- 500 g pork belly
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Cut the pork belly into small cubes.
- Boil the pork for 2 to 3 minutes to remove impurities, then drain.
- Heat oil in a pan and add sugar. Stir until it turns light brown.
- Add pork and stir to coat with caramelized sugar.
- Add soy sauce, dark soy sauce, ginger, and garlic.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Cook until the sauce thickens.
