What Are We Making?
Welcome to my recipe on Fujianese Ban Mian. This is one of my favorite meals from my childhood and a comfort meal! The cooking and prep time combined is around 10 minutes.
Ingredients
To make this meal it is very simple! There is only a couple ingredients!
- For the Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1 Tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 or 2 Tsp Oyster Sauce (Adjust according to preference)
- 2 Tbsp Regular Soy Sauce
- 1 Tsp Sesame Sauce (Optional)
- 2 Cloves Minced Garlic (Optional)
- For the Noodles
- 2 Servings of Thick Wonton Noodles
- 1 Scallion Chopped
- Chili Oil/Sauce (Optional)
Instructions
- Bring pot of water to boil and add noodles and cook according to package instructions
- While the noodles are cooking, add sauce ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly
- Add about 3 or 4 Tbsp of the noodle water to the sauce to get it to your desired consistency
- Drain the noodles, then place them onto a large dish. Mix thouroughly with the sauce and add more noodle water as needed until fully incorporated. Top with chopped scallions and optional chili oil/sauce and enjoy!
