Alazar’s baked alaska

I buy icecream a lot and sometimes i forget to eat them before buying new ones. So with the extra ice cream that I have I like to make baked alaska.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Line the bottom an dside of an 8-inch round mixing bowl with plastic wrap.
  2. Pack softened ice cream into the prepared bowl, flatten the top and cover with plastic wrap
  3. Freeze until firm ~ 8hours to overnight
  4. Beat egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt in a mixing bowl until stiff pearks form
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place cake in the center.
  6. Remove ice cream from the freezer, discard plastic wrap and turn ice cream out on top of cake
  7. Spread meringue over ice cream and cake, swirling in decorative patters if desired
  8. Freeze for 2 hours
  9. Preheat the over to 425 degrees F.
  10. Bake cake on the lowest oven shelf until meringue is light brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
